7 Netflix Films and Series Shot in Thailand – Top Filming Locations & Production Incentives (2025)

🎬 7 Netflix Films and Series Filmed in Thailand

Thailand has become one of the world’s most desirable film destinations — offering a stunning mix of lush jungles, white-sand beaches, vibrant cities, ancient temples, and luxury villas. Its diverse scenery, modern infrastructure, and talented local crews make it a go-to location for international productions. Streaming giants like Netflix continue to choose Thailand for major shoots, strengthening the country’s film industry and creating jobs for Thai professionals.

Why Thailand is a Top Choice for Filmmakers

Thailand offers a single nationwide filming permit, a large pool of experienced local crews, and a cash rebate program of up to 30% for qualifying productions — making it both convenient and cost-effective to film here. These benefits, combined with world-class facilities, are driving an increase in high-budget projects across the country.

Below are seven Netflix productions filmed in Thailand — from epic adventures to award-winning dramas — all showcasing the country’s cinematic potential.

1. Alien: Earth (2025)

With a staggering budget of 3 billion THB, Alien: Earth became the highest-budget production ever filmed in Thailand. Over 1,600 Thai crew members joined the international team. Shooting took place across Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga, and Surat Thani, highlighting the nation’s diverse landscapes — from futuristic sets built at The Studio Park to untouched natural backdrops.

2. The White Lotus – Season 3 (2025)

The global hit The White Lotus brought its third season to Koh Samui and Phuket, filming at luxury resorts such as the Four Seasons Koh Samui, Anantara Bophut, Rosewood Phuket, and Anantara Mai Khao Villas. Controlled scenes were filmed at Bangkok’s Mandarin Oriental and Acts Studio.
Thanks to Thailand’s 30% tax rebate, the production received $4.4 million back on its $35 million budget — and inspired a tourism boom known as the White Lotus Effect.

3. Fountain of Youth (2025)

Filmed mainly in Bangkok, this film features high-energy chase sequences through Chinatown and the iconic Hua Lamphong Train Station. The production also built a full train interior set to film dynamic action scenes. Additional filming took place in Suphanburi, capturing the blend of Thailand’s modern and traditional backdrops.

4. Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025)

Thailand’s natural parks provided the perfect prehistoric setting for Jurassic World: Rebirth. The crew filmed across Hat Chao Mai, Khao Phanom Bencha, and Ao Phang Nga National Parks, using dense jungles and limestone cliffs rising from turquoise waters to recreate a lost world feel.

5. The Night Agent – Season 2 (2023)

Set partly in Bangkok, The Night Agent used Yaowarat Road, Wat Pho, Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen, and the Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel to craft gripping action and espionage sequences. The mix of sacred temples and neon-lit streets gave the series its unique Southeast Asian atmosphere.

6. The Bear (2022)

While The Bear is based in Chicago, several sequences were filmed in Bangkok, which doubled for the American city. The skyline and modern architecture made for a believable stand-in, while filming in Phuket and Koh Samui added tropical contrast — demonstrating Thailand’s flexibility for international shoots.

7. Extraction (2020)

Extraction, starring Chris Hemsworth, made use of Thailand’s chaotic energy with filming across Bangkok, Klong Toey Market, Lat Bua Khao Bridge, and Tha Pha area. Scenes in Nakhon Pathom and Ratchaburi added rural balance to the film’s high-octane urban action. The country’s authenticity and production value were key reasons Netflix chose Thailand for its blockbuster.

Thailand: Asia’s Leading Filming Destination

With its unmatched location diversity, streamlined permits, and competitive cash incentives, Thailand continues to rise as Asia’s most film-friendly destination. From Hollywood blockbusters to streaming originals, the country offers every element needed for a world-class production.
